A woman identified as Serah Innocent has allegedly stabbed her husband, Innocent Nwaoji to death in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, August 8, 2026, less than eight months after their white wedding.
Although the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing and what may have led to the incident remain unclear, it was gathered that Nwaọjị was allegedly stabbed while he was asleep.
A community member, David Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident on Sunday said the development shocked local residents.
“We are not aware of any disagreement between the couple before the incident. The woman has been arrested and is currently in police custody, while the deceased’s body had been deposited at a morgue,” he said.
