The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu, has been conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Security and Strategic Studies.
The honour was bestowed on him during the Nasarawa State University’s 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony, held on Saturday 11th April, 2026, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to knowledge in the field of security administration, strategic leadership, and national development.

“Dr. Odumosu’s academic accomplishment reflects his unwavering commitment to intellectual advancement and professional excellence in the field of security management,” a statement by the FCT command’s spokersperson, DSC Monica Ojobi said.
“His research and practical engagements continue to contribute meaningfully to policy development, operational effectiveness, and the strengthening of internal security frameworks in Nigeria,” it said.
As Commandant of the FCT Command, Dr. Odumosu has demonstrated exemplary leadership, fostering synergy among security agencies, enhancing critical infrastructure protection, and advancing community-based security initiatives across the Federal Capital Territory. His pursuit of higher academic attainment underscores the importance of continuous learning and capacity building in addressing contemporary security challenges.
